The Acadia is a rugged three-row crossover SUV with spacious seating and a long list of standard tech features and safety equipment. GMC dropped the entry-level SL for the 2022 model year and removed the base four-cylinder engine from the lineup. It also gained several driver-assist features as standard and some new wheel designs. Take a look at these reasons to love the 2022 GMC Acadia.

1. A Model for Everyone

The Acadia lineup has four trims. The base trim is now the SLE, with 18-inch wheels, keyless entry, LED headlights, and LED daytime running lights. Stepping up to the SLT gets you roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, and LED fog lights. The AT4 is perfect for drivers who like adventure. It has all-terrain tires, 17-inch wheels, black exterior trim elements, and all the features of the SLT.

The top-level trim is the upscale Denali. It upgrades the front grille, comes with 20-inch wheels, and has power-folding and heated side exterior mirrors.

2. Lots of Power for Adventures

The entry-level engine is now a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder gas engine. It churns out 230 horsepower and generates 258 pound-feet of torque. The AT4 and the Denali both get the available 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which generates 310 horsepower. Both engines offer the choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive and use a nine-speed automatic transmission.

3. Impressive Technology

The 2022 Acadia has the tech to keep you informed, connected, and entertained. It comes with an 8-inch touch screen, a six-speaker stereo, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, five USB ports, and OnStar with an onboard Wi-Fi hot spot. The SLT adds navigation and an eight-speaker Bose stereo, and the Denali comes standard with a wireless charging pad.

4. Comfortable Cabin

GMC designed the Acadia’s cabin for comfort and convenience. Even the base trim comes with tri-zone automatic climate control, active noise cancellation, and cloth upholstery. The SLT adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Stepping up to the luxurious Denali gets you ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, driver’s seat memory settings, and a power-adjustable passenger seat. Add the Luxury Package to the SLT to get many of the Denali’s upgraded features.

5. Safety Features

Every Acadia comes standard with the GM Pro Safety Plus Package. It includes a forward-collision warning system, automatic braking, front and rear parking sensors, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. It also comes with a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. The AT4 adds hill descent control and hill hold assist, and if you have the Denali, you can get the optional Technology Package with a surround-view camera system and adaptive cruise control. This package also comes with an enhanced automatic braking system and a digital rearview camera.

GMC gives drivers plenty of reasons to love the 2022 Acadia. Its turbo engine is powerful and efficient, there’s an off-road-capable model for adventure seekers, and it has a comfortable and upscale cabin, along with all the safety features and driver aids you need to stay safe.
